now you're burning by the side of the road

why is it that when people are called out for acting a certain way or making a poor decision they automatically jump to the 'you don't know me, you don't know what i've been through' defense? it's such a cop out and i'm not buying it. no one really knows anyone. no one reallyyy knows what anyone else has been through. even if you have a person you've known forever and told everything to, they still don't know what you've been through. even if the other person has experienced the same situation, they still didn't experience it the same way that you did. i get it. i completely understand and respect it. but i still think that we're all human and, as humans, we have thoughts and opinions that we're free to express.

just because you don't necessarily know everything about a situation doesn't mean you're not going to have an opinion on it. for example -- politics. we'll probably never, ever know every detail of either side, but we still have an opinion as to who we're going to vote for. this is no different. so stop telling me 'you don't know what i've been through, you don't understand. don't judge me.' no, fuck you. i'll judge you all i want. you're acting foolish and you have been for years. just because everyone else gave up on you and i decided to be a friend and stick around, i get to be the jerk who actually says what everyone else is thinking.

anywayyy - i'm going to the flea market with jodi in a little bit and hopefully we'll find some awesome things. neither of us have been there since we were kids and we've been wanting to go so bad. we figure it's now or never because it's about to start getting cold. boo chicago weather. :[ then later tonight is terry's birthday celebration at jbc. tomorrow i'm getting my hair done at some fancy salon downtown. i'm excited. i need a change and my hair is in desperate need of a trim. oh! and i get to see my boys on wednesday! can't wait. i need to go to the atm. i'm about to spend too much money over the next few days.
